Venezuela and Dominican Republic resume relations
Foreign Ministries of Dominican Republic and Venezuela have decided to reopen consular services, and resume airline service between Santo Domingo and Caracas. As Venezuela slowly opens up to rest of Latin America, it would be advisable for both Dominican Republic and Venezuela to issue a joint statement requesting resolution on Cuba so that Díaz Canel and Raúl Castro regime can finally cease oppression to their citizens. After such a successful regime change operation provided to Venezuela on January 3rd, we should also provide Cuba an opportunity to get liberated from communist dictatorship, and begin a new system of reversion into capitalism.
Cuban situation remains dire. No petroleum is arriving there. Russia and China, as expected, are not defending their ally. Cuba is at complete mercy of United States, which will not allow other countries to send petroleum: as tariffs would be prohibitive. Even Mexico has suspended petroleum shipments into Cuba as Mexico does not want to suffer extra tariffs from United States. While Venezuela is already selling liquefied natural gas into United States: as first shipment departed José Antonio Anzoátegui refining complex into port of Providence, Rhode Island, United States.
Venezuela is finally selling its oil and gas products into markets that pay at market price, rather than subsidies to countries such as Cuba that usually end up in corruption. Previous Venezuelan sales of petroleum only reached Cuban population at a minimal rate of 40%. Remaining 60% of petroleum shipments from Venezuela into Cuba were diverted into China, so that Cuba could earn foreign cash for their corrupt elite. Such corrupt elite is asked to go. If they don't go, United States will take decisive action: just as it already did against Venezuela. Most diplomats from most foreign countries and executives of international companies operating in Cuba are evacuating.
Cuba has an enormous electrical problem that will need to be solved by United States, once it topples disastrous leadership of Díaz Canel and Raúl Castro. They are being offered to seek asylum in Moscow, Russia just as Nicolás Maduro was previously suggested to do. However, Nicolás Maduro did not want exile into Russia or Turkey. Therefore, it was needed to arrest him. If Raúl Castro and Díaz Canel do not want to get arrested by United States, they must remove themselves from power and leave way to a cooperating figure: who would handle Cuban politics in a manner similar as Delcy Rodríguez successfully excels in Venezuela.
This is not an operation for democracy: as United States National Security Directives from November 2025 are not seeking democracy anywhere. They just need Western Hemisphere alignment. Javier Tarazona, Yandir Loggiodice and other celebrities were released from political prison, while Oscar Castañeda became a celebrity as he was seen with serious mobility problems. He was unable to recognize his daughter. Media activism is already suggesting that Oscar Castañeda suffered torture while in prison. Javier Tarazona in contrast exited with extra weight. Presumption of horrible prison conditions for all political prisoners must be verified: by evidence of some prisoners exiting in good health, and other prisoners exiting in questionable health.
Rate of release of political prisoners has increased a bit: as we approach a marvelous reconciliation week, featuring a law of amnesty where reconciliation will be imposed to Venezuelan population. Extremist opposition does not want to reconcile. They will continue pushing narratives of human rights violations, electoral fraud, and other well-known excuses for boycotting Venezuela's economic recovery. Many of political prisoners that are being released were suspects of hate crimes, and charges of treason to homeland.
There is still a law against hatred: which needs to be kept current as hate crimes are extremely common in social media. Social media users discriminate other social media users. They write obnoxious accusations and they distribute horrendous narratives which are not corresponding to reality, as they push for certain political outcomes. Once political prisoners are released and amnesty law is passed in Congress, extremism will have no further agenda to push. They will need to either reconsider their lives in exile or return into Venezuela, through new flights offered by different airlines that are resuming service. Should they come back into Venezuela, they would have to comply with amnesty law and law against hatred. It will be unacceptable to admit return of people who are clearly engaging in subversive regime change attempts.
Reforms of most laws and reform of economic system are underway. Opposition parties that campaigned that they would be only ones capable of improving conditions in Venezuela are realizing that they are already late. It must be reminded that Venezuelans will not tolerate any elections in 2026, 2027 or 2028. As many elections were already conducted in 2024 and 2025, current authorities are at beginning of their terms. Venezuelans deserve a break from so many elections. Career politicians asking for elections in most cases are not even in control of valid political parties. Political parties need to be re-established. They will need to get signatures from population. Most population will refrain from signing up for political parties led by legacy career politicians, who have usually failed.
All this gracious political prisoner liberation and economic development through petroleum exports is possible: due to collaboration between presidents Delcy Rodríguez and Donald Trump. While career politicians from legacy opposition, many of them in exile, have no improvements to propose. Municipalities of Baruta and Chacao are competing for becoming headquarters of several multinational corporations.Mayors Darwin González and Gustavo Duque are preparing laws in their municipalities of Baruta and Chacao: so that foreign corporations have renewed packages of tax exemptions, if their investment into municipality is significant.
Caracas may well become a regional hub of multinational corporations into northern South America: just as our capital city was in past. Venezuela's boom of 1970s could be repeated. Venezuelans have responsibility of administering our new oil boom with prudence, reinvestment, care for our population and lack of frivolous spending. Besides Chacao and Baruta, municipalities of Lechería and Maracaibo are also expected to host international companies.
It will be interesting to see recently released political prisoners: whether they will continue forever protesting against jail condition of other political prisoners, or if they will find a different way of life. It looks like there are people who just make a living by protesting about everything. They went into jail, they exited jail, and they go back to protesting as if it were a permanent job. It is suspected that a lot of money flows to these protesting agencies: that send people to around the clock protests.
Once reconciliation and amnesty law are passed, it will be time to turn the page and devote ourselves to Venezuela's economic growth: rather than extreme polarization and politicization. Narratives provided by political prisoners tend to be political, as they went into jail for political reasons. They will continue requesting regime change rather than organizing themselves in a political party: in accordance with Venezuela's electoral laws. They usually claim that non-governmental organizations are more desirable than political parties: which makes us suspect that non-governmental organizations are a huge source of income, which is related to foreign policy of foreign governments.
Many political prisoners were induced to indulge in borderline admissible behavior. As they now gain amnesty, they should take advantage of their opportunity to constructively build a peaceful Venezuela, rather than boring confrontation business that has been so convenient to warmongers.
